Why has Anakin Skywalker returned as Ahsoka Tano’s Master…and what does he still need to teach his former Padawan? Anakin’s return in Ahsoka gave us one of the most important moments in their relationship: “Live…or die.”

But what if that wasn’t the end of Anakin’s lesson? Albert and Chris take a deep dive into Anakin and Ahsoka’s relationship and ask whether Anakin has returned simply because Ahsoka needs her Master or because Anakin Skywalker still has unfinished business of his own….

]]> A forgotten piece of Lucasfilm history… and 30 minutes of RAW Return of the Jedi footage!

Albert & Chris go back to the early 1980s to explore EditDroid, the groundbreaking nonlinear editing system developed by Lucasfilm that helped point the way toward the future of digital film editing.

We’ll also be dig into roughly 30 minutes of raw Return of the Jedi footage discovered on a LaserDisc associated with an EditDroid demonstration at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Convention in 1984.

Alternate takes. Unfinished footage. Behind-the-scenes glimpses of Return of the Jedi before it became the movie we know.

What exactly was EditDroid? Why was Return of the Jedi footage being used to demonstrate it? And what can this surviving LaserDisc tell us about how the film was made?

Join us as we fire up the EditDroid and take a look at Return of the Jedi before the final cut in this week’s Patreon Preview!

]]> It’s happening! STAR WARS: EPISODE X is taking shape and the Skywalker Saga may not be over after all.

Albert, Chris, and Kirsty are LIVE tonight to break down the huge reports surrounding the next chapter of Star Wars on the big screen. Jon Watts, director of the Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy and co-creator of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, is attached to direct the first film in Simon Kinberg’s new Star Wars trilogy, with Kinberg writing the screenplay. Daisy Ridley is also expected to return as Rey in some capacity.

But that may not even be the biggest part of this story.

The new films are once again being described as the next episodes of the “Skywalker Saga.”

What exactly does that mean?

The Rise of Skywalker was marketed as the conclusion of the nine-film Skywalker Saga. So if Episode X really is continuing that saga, whose story are we continuing? Is Rey Skywalker the bridge between the first nine episodes and a completely new generation? Could other characters from the sequel trilogy return? And does calling this the “Skywalker Saga” give us our first real clue about what Episode X will actually be about?

We dig into everything we know so far (who’s writing, who’s directing, who may be starring) and then get into our theories about where Episode X could take the story after The Rise of Skywalker…

]]> Heading to Star Wars Celebration 2027 in Los Angeles and hoping to score autographs or photo ops with your favorite Star Wars celebrities? We’ve got you covered!

Albert, Chris, and our SWC Crew return for Road to Celebration 2027, Part 4: Autos and Photos, breaking down the latest Star Wars celebrities announced for Celebration 2027 and everything you need to know about getting autographs and taking photos with the guests.

Joining us will be members of the Star Wars Celebration Discord community and experienced Celebration veterans who have navigated autograph and photo-op lines at multiple Celebrations around the world.

We’ll start with the latest Star Wars Celebration 2027 guest announcements and take a look at who has been confirmed to sign autographs and take photos in Los Angeles.

Then we’re diving into how the entire autograph and photo-op experience works at Star Wars Celebration and why it can be VERY different from your typical regional convention.

IN THIS EPISODE:

• The latest Star Wars Celebration 2027 celebrity guest announcements

• How Celebration autograph and photo-op tickets work

• Buying tickets ahead of time vs. walking up at a convention

• Assigned time slots and scheduling your day

• What happens when celebrity appearances overlap or run behind

• What we learned from Celebration Chicago, Anaheim, London, and Japan

• Why autograph prices can be significantly higher at Celebration

• Personalization fees and getting your own items signed

• What the celebrity interaction is actually like

• Why some autograph lines can feel like an assembly line

• Author and book-signing opportunities at Celebration

• What you should bring to get signed

• Protecting and transporting autographs around the convention

• Paint pens, signing supplies, and other practical tips

• How many autograph sessions you should realistically schedule in one day

• Whether Day 1 might be the perfect day to focus on autographs and photo ops

• Our biggest tips for avoiding scheduling disasters and making the most of your Celebration experience

We’ll also compare the autograph experience at Celebration with smaller conventions and explain some of the factors that can contribute to Celebration’s much higher autograph and photo-op prices.

If Star Wars Celebration 2027 will be your first Celebration, this episode is designed to help you know what to expect BEFORE autograph and photo-op tickets go on sale. And if you’re a Celebration veteran, join us and share your own experiences, tips, and autograph stories in the chat!
